HER-STORY

Char "BAM" W. is the heart and hands behind SONA Fresh Co.—a Detroit native, mother, wellness professional, public health advocate, culinary storyteller, and multidisciplinary creative dedicated to redefining what it means to live and eat well. Through SONA, she blends intention, culinary creativity, and cultural connection into experiences that feel both elevated and attainable.

Her love for cooking began as the devoted understudy of her grandmother, Mary. She watched her prepare broths, sauces, fillings, and icings entirely from scratch—creating dishes that became staples of family

gatherings and cherished traditions. It was in those moments that BAM learned one of the most important lessons she carries into SONA today:

Food is more than nourishment—it is an expression of love, care, culture, and connection.

Today, that philosophy serves as the foundation of SONA Fresh Co., where fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and community-centered experiences come together to make wellness feel approachable, enjoyable, and sustainable for everyday life.

"At SONA, wellness isn't a luxury—it's a way of gathering, nourishing, and caring for ourselves and one another."
